Biography

Professor Pullan is Professor of Computational Aerothermal Design and Co-Director of Whittle Laboratory.

His research interests are the advanced aerodynamic design of compressors and turbines for both jet engines (with Rolls-Royce) or power generation (with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries). His research involves both experiments and also state-of-the-art computational techniques.

He lectures on turbomachinery and teaches a course on aerothermal design, in which students produce an overall layout and cycle design for a jet engine.
