Biography

Mr Arthur is an acknowledged specialist in the music of the Baroque and Classical periods and enjoys a fine reputation as a conductor and keyboard player throughout the UK, Europe and the USA. His principal research – led by his performing interests – has focussed upon English music of the Restoration period and North German music of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. He is an Affiliated Lecturer in the University’s Faculty of Music and teaches Harmony and Counterpoint and provides regular seminars, master classes and one-to-one coaching in conducting and historically informed keyboard playing.
