Coach and Boathouse Manager Paul Townshend reflects on a great weekend’s racing by the Trinity Hall Boat Club crews in the Cambridge Spring Regatta (run by Cambridge 99s Rowing Club).
“The headlines are another win for W1 this time winning more engraved drinkware for their victory in the Mays First Division categaory defeating Clare W1 (by 3.5 lengths) and Queen’s W1 (by 3 lengths). The crew are pictured after the final (along with Harry the terrier – the day’s mascot!).
“M1 had an excellent day with a strong win over First & Third M1 that was promptly followed by an excellent row running Caius M2 very close indeed with the final verdict being 1/2 length (the crew are pictured at the start of this race).
“W2 started the day in the First Division rowing well to hold Pembroke W2 to just over one length which they followed up with an even stronger race only losing to Emmanuel W3 by a mere 6 feet!
“The day was rounded off by M2 who raced hard and will have learned an enormous amount in their two races today.
“A great day for THBC once again and all crews showing the progress they are making towards the Mays in a few weeks. Now back to training and sparring! Row Hall!”
