Prospective students had the opportunity to be guided around Trinity Hall and to ask questions about the application process, academic expectations, social life and anything else that was on their mind.
As part of Trinity Hall’s ‘You’ll Fit In’ programme, which offers Year 12 students from under-represented backgrounds a free programme of support before they apply to university, 80 students stayed at Trinity Hall for the duration of the Open Days. They attended Q&As with the Director of Admissions, Outreach team and student ambassadors.
Access and Recruitment Officer Xanthe Robertson said: “As the newest member of Trinity Hall’s Admissions team, it was a pleasure to meet and speak to so many prospective applicants.
“Trinity Hall and the University of Cambridge have so many exciting opportunities to offer students from all backgrounds and with all academic interests, and we want to help overcome the barriers preventing some students from accessing these opportunities. We have outreach events and resources to help break down some of those barriers and are always available to answer any questions.
“We look forward to welcoming prospective applicants again at the next Open Day in September and hope to see some familiar faces starting their studies at Trinity Hall in the coming years!”
Cambridge Open Days are for students in Year 12 (or equivalent) and mature applicants (aged 21 or over), together with their parents and supporters. The Open Days give prospective students the chance to find out about the courses available, the Colleges and departments, University facilities, the application process, student life and finance.
For anyone who missed the Open Days, there is a wealth of information available online from University and Colleges, linked below.
