Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, this event has been cancelled. We apologise for any inconvenience, and hope to see you in College on another occasion.

We warmly invite you to attend this Q&A session with Lord Norman Fowler, where we shall discuss his rich and varied political career as well as his views on the current state of UK politics.

The Rt Hon Lord Norman Fowler
Speaker

Lord Norman Fowler

Lord Fowler served as a member of both Margaret Thatcher and John Major’s ministries during the 1980s and 1990s before holding the office of Lord Speaker from 2016-2021. As Secretary of State for Health and Social Services, he drew public attention to the dangers of AIDS and as Minister of State at Transport he drove through the 1981 bill to make seat belts compulsory. In 2021 Lord Fowler announced he would be stepping down in order to ‘speak his mind’ as an independent member of the House of Lords on issues such as LGBT rights in the UK as well as HIV and AIDS.
