The Trinity Hall Law Society are pleased to announce that the Annual Dinner will take place on Saturday 3 February 2024. The dinner is open to all alumni who studied Law and/or are now working in the legal field, and will provide a wonderful opportunity for alumni to meet with current students. We regret that due to limited space, we are unable to extend the invitation to guests.

After dinner, we are delighted to announce that The Honourable Mrs Justice Dias (1978) will be giving a speech.  Julia Dias joined the London-based chambers 7KBW in 1985 as their first female tenant, working in specialist commercial practice, and took silk in 2008. Recently, she was appointed a High Court judge on 20 March 2023 and assigned to the King’s Bench Division by the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales.

Programme

Speaker

The Honourable Mrs Justice Julia Dias is the first alumna of Trinity Hall to be appointed a High Court Judge, having read Law from 1978-81 here, gaining a triple first. Alongside excelling in her studies, Justice Dias gained a half-blue in tennis and was Secretary of the University Chamber Orchestra. Called to the Bar in 1982, she rapidly gained a formidable reputation before making silk in 2008. She has held numerous positions in legal bodies, was elected a Governing Bencher in the Inner Temple in 2012 and from March 2023 the King approved the appointment of a Justice of the High Court to Justice Dias.

The cost is £75 or £50 for those who matriculated in 2014 or later. The price includes a drinks reception, and three-course meal served with wine (non-alcoholic options available).
